What is America so Afraid of?

What is america so afraid of is the question at hand. Every material that we have covered in the "Women and Sport" class, has women had to deal with white male fear. In whit America white male, who run this country seem preaty fearful to be in such a powerful, "privilaged" position of power. They have feared everything from race, to fat. They fear that blacks, Mexicans and other ethnicities would one day take their posessions, jobs, women, etc... They are "fat phobic", they down people for being over weight, but yet more people die in America for being too skinny and malnutritioned in this country. This fear that these people have, has caused more stress and anxiety than people in third world countries, who are unsure if they are going to eat that day. This is obsured to me, but then again I guess I'm not in a possition to judge, but rater observe as a spectator in the frightening world of White America. Not even people who are greatly oppressed to the point of being killed for saying the wrong thing, or being the wrong race, fear death as much as White America fears what ever is not like them. And the question is why? From my stand point I have no idea. Maybe if I was a White male I would beable to relate to that common fear, But fortunatly I'm not, I have my own problems.
